The Happening NPC is a non-profit company that aims to showcase a new and different way of doing events. Our team work for free, and in keeping with our value of inclusivity, we keep our event free (there are no ticket sales).
But there are costs involved in hosting a free and open event where we close off the street for a day – licensing with the City of Joburg, event insurance, medics, toilets, traffic signs and speed fencing, and some other small expenses add up to R120k.
We therefore rely on donations to make this day happen.
